I grew up in the neighbourhoods of Athens in a time when neoclassical houses still existed. Unfortunately they were gradually replaced by apartment buildings and this influenced me to constantly seek a traditional way of life, either in my city or by escaping in other cities of the world.
At the beginning of my professional career I worked as a D.J. in several stages, a job that satisfied my inner need to communicate with people through music performances. At first, I started playing music in small stages and later on in big clubs of Athens and many other cities of Greece, like “City Groove” in Athens & “Cavo Paradiso” in the island of Mykonos. As a result, I began to explore and experiment with music-production, concluding to atmospheric music as my personal form of expression.
After my sound-engineer studies, I worked in concerts and sound recordings all over the country and up to this date as sound engineer in the Greek National Opera in Athens. In the meantime, I had great passion for photography and experimental video shootings, which led to my participating in several photo exhibitions like “Athens Art Puzzle” but overall, street photography was what fascinated me the most.
My other big source of inspiration is Theatrical arts. Due to my ten-year experience as sound engineer in operetta performances, a year ago I created the documentary “Operetta, your inner world”, a film which presents the Greek operetta in my very own personal way.
Now all my energy and interests are directing towards the creation & production of street documentaries and video-clips of experimental non-commercial music, fields that in my opinion hold closest relation with reality.
My point of view is that by producing simple and easy-to-understand art pieces, we can directly influence people in their daily routine activities. Furthermore, I strongly believe that art is something that cannot be achieved only with diplomas and that it can mostly be recognized when it directly touches the hearts of ordinary people and achieves to make them think spherically and openly, resulting to a better society of understanding and sensibility.
